About Vienna International Airport & Transfer Information
21km southeast of Vienna in Schwechat, the International Airport is Austria’s busiest and biggest. It is capable of handling wide-body aircraft (the Boeing 747 and Airbus A340 for example) and it is the hub of Austrian Airlines and its subsidiaries, as well as budget airlines Niki and Sky Europe.
Approximate transfer times to city centre:
CAT train services run to Mitte rail station every 30 minutes, with an average journey time of 16 minutes.
There are tram services (S-bahn) every 30 minutes that also go to Mitte rail station with an average journey time of 25 minutes.
A bus service (Vienna Airport Lines) runs from the airport to central Vienna locations including Schwedenplatz/ Morzinplatz, which takes between 25 and 35 minutes.
