| Weather | Belgium has a maritime, temperate climate, characterised by warm summers and mild winters. The average temperature ranges between -1 to 5 degrees Celsius in winter and 11 to 22 degrees Celsius in the summer. In the high southeasterly districts, hot summers alternate with very cold winters; rainfall is seldom heavy (except in the highlands). |

| Business Hours | Business hours are generally 9am to 5.30pm or 6pm (in major cities 9pm) Monday to Saturday. On Sundays shops are generally open from 10am until 4pm, but again mainly in bigger cities. This is the case for almost all except for petrol stations and train stations which are open 24/7. |

| Visas | Passport holders from EU member states do not require a visa, as is also the case for Australians, Canadians and US Americans (for stays of up to three months). |

| Tipping | Restaurants: generally service charges are included in bills, except for exceptional service tipping is not expected from you. Porters and coatroom attendants are generally tipped (1 Euro up to whatever you think is suitable). For lavatory assistants you would generally leave 50 Cent. |
