Introduction
Ansbach lies in Bavaria in central-southern Germany approximately 180km north-west of Munich. The main A6 motorway (the European Route E50) skirts along the perimeter of the city and provides quick and simple access to the east-west stretch of the country. Nearby the A7 motorway crosses the A6 and this then also gives the necessary access to the main north-south route of the country.Nuremberg Airport lies 80km away and is the nearest airport where international connections are available. Stuttgart's and Frankfurt's airports are both another 100km further afield, but obviously give more choice.
Despite there not being any high-speed rail links to the city, the rail service operating from Ansbach station is still good, with regional and inter-city connections providing a comprehensive, direct service to destinations such as Wurzburg and Stuttgart.
