Rail Guide to Le Croisic

Introduction

The seaside is the main attraction at Le Croisic, although the old town is not without its gems. If you’re a fan of 15th – 17th architecture you can wander around streets that have barely changed since the Middle Ages; look out for the characteristic townhouses with small windows and turrets. Round by the docks the fish market host auctions where you can buy fresh fish and seafood, but if you’re holidaying you might want to go to one of the restaurants, many of which have maritime-related names even if they specialise in crepes.

If you’ve ever wanted to know how to prepare snails the Helici culture Farm has that covered, with a programme that includes breeding and how to cook them. On the other hand for relaxation, there is a choice of three sandy beaches.
