Norddeich, Germany

Rail Guide to Norddeich

Introduction

Despite having less than 2000 inhabitants, Norddeich is the third largest passenger port in Germany and packs a lot in. Aside from being the connection between the mainland and the nearby islands of Juist and Norderney, no doubt the biggest attraction is the Ocean Wave. This is a cruise ship that’s been converted into a health spa with a sauna, solariums, pools filled with seawater and aromatherapy rooms. The upper deck is for sun seekers while the boiler room has steam rooms, and additionally there are foot pools, waterfalls and a restaurant for post-relaxation food.

The youngest members of the family can be entertained at the Railway Museum, the Automotive and Toy Museum, and the Maze, a garden shaped like a labyrinth.
