Introduction

Nürburg is home to the Nürburgring racing track, which as well as hosting motor racing events is the location of the famous rock festival Rock am Ring. Thousands of visitors descend on the town each year for these occasions, so on certain dates it gets very hectic. Visit at other times and you’ll find a sleepy town with some interesting historical remains like the hilltop Nürburg Castle, which is believed to date as far back as Roman times. The hill is 678 metres high, and sits within one of the loops of the racing track.
