Interrail Supplements - Extra charges for selected train services


The amounts listed in the table below are payable for travel on the services listed. You should pre-pay these amounts at the station before boarding to ensure that your pass is valid.

  • ICE/ICE-T: supplements between 3.58 and 29.14 euros

  • People who haven't bought Zone E or C have to pay the full fare
  • People with a pass that covers the entire journey pay a "pass" discount prices

Cisalpino

  • Supplement EC: 3.58 euros

RENFE

  • All long distance trains need to have a reservation (3 euros)

  • Euromed (alicante-Barcelona), Arco (Alicante - Barcelona), Alaris and Talgo require a supplement to be paid

  • All the AVE trains and Talgo 200 can be taken in standard class for a supplement (reservation included) of 9 euros

  • Trenhotel Madrid/Barcelona - Paris

    Zone E or F pass holder pay the "pass" tariff in standard class

  • Trenhotel Barcelona - Zurich

    Zone C or F pass holder pay the "pass" tariff in standard class

  • Trenhotel Barcelona - Madrid

    Zone F or G pass holder pay the "pass" tariff in standard class

Finland

InterCity & Pendolino(from EUR 3.36 - EUR 15.14).

France

TGV

(from EUR 3.00 - EUR 16.68).

Eurostar

Holders of Inter Rail cards which do not include zone A or Zone E pay the normal public fare. Holders of Inter Rail cards which include zone A and/or Zone E pay a "special" tariff. Special tariffs also apply on TTTP , ARTESIA and Rail France - Switzerland SAS Services.

Thalys

Holders of Inter Rail cards which do not include Zone E or Zone C pay the normal public fare. Holders of Inter Rail cards which cover the whole journey pay the " pass" fare.

Night Trains

between France, Belgium and Germany. Holders of Inter Rail cards which include zone E pay the normal public fare. Holders of Inter Rail cards covering the whole journey pay the " pass" price for sleepers and seats.

Greece

InterCity

(from EUR 2.64 - EUR 18.78).

Holand

Overnight Express Amsterdam - Milano

Holders of Inter Rail cards which include zones C and G pay seasonal supplements; EUR 46.24 seats and EUR60.52 sleepers.

Thalys

Holders of Inter Rail cards which do not include zone E pay the normal public fare. Holders of Inter Rail cards covering the whole journey pay the " pass" fare.

NS Night train Amsterdam - Dresden - Prague

Holders of Inter Rail cards which include zones C and D pay the seasonal supplements: EUR 33.00 seats and EUR 39.60 sleepers.

Hungary

InterCity and EuroCity

(EUR 2.60).

Great Britain

Eurostar

Holders of Inter Rail cards which do not include zone A or zone E pay the normal public fare. Holders of Inter Rail cards which include zone A and/or zone E pay a special "pass" fare.

Italy

Cisalpino

between Italy and Switzerland (from EUR 7.50 - EUR 13.75).

Norway

Between 01 May and 30 September, the line connecting Myrdal and Flm requires a supplement of EUR 4.60.. ForExpress and night services a reservation is required.

Poland

InterCity and EuroCity

(from EUR 2.00 - EUR 4.00).

Portugal

Between 01 June and 30 September, the InterCity trains require a supplement of (EUR 2.50).

ALFA Pendular servcies

(EUR 11.00).

Czech Republic

SuperCity services

EUR 1.60 + EUR 2.30 (reservation required).

InterCity

(EUR 0.80).

EuroCity

(EUR 1.60).

Romania

ICE Internal traffic

(EURO 6.40).

IC Internal traffic

(EUR 3.60).

Sweden

Linx - Copenhagen - Goteborg - Oslo and Stockholm - Oslo

Holders of Inter Rail cards which include zone B pay a special supplement.

X2000

(EUR 5.23) standard class.

Night trains

"pass" supplement applies for sleepers and seats.

Switzerland

Rail France - Switzerland SAS

special fares apply.

Slovak Republic
