The clusters of fjords, and backdrop of mountains and glaciers create a magical and mystic feel to the Norwegian countryside.
Visit some of the many, sleepy fishing villages to sample a taste of what it must have been like years ago. The most adventurous amongst you may wish to use your Interrail Pass in the far north of the country. Try the Northern Line between Trondheim and Bodo; one of the few rail routes in the world to cross the artic circle. The northern area surrounding the Svalbard archipelago is home to few human inhabitants and is instead populated by polar bears, seals and the odd walrus!
