Belfast celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with a street parade complete with dancers and music. The colourful floats have themes which vary from biblical characters to environmental issues – this may sound dull, but it’s anything but. There is also a yearly theme for the parade, most recently this revolved around recycling, and the procession featured percussionists who’d made their own instruments from found materials. After the parade there is usually a concert which will appeal to pop fans; taking place at Custom House Square, X Factor competitor Stacey Solomon and Lemar performed recently. Both the parade and concerts are family-friendly and free.
