About the station
Gare de Caen or Caen Station is housed in a rather uninspiring and grey part of town, in a large art deco-styled building. Once at the station, there is small bus station immediately outside as well as some shops, car hire centre and parking. Just the other side of the station is Les Rives de l'Orne shopping centre.For a greater sense of culture and greenery head towards Church of Saint-Pierre on the other side of the canal along the Quai Vendeuvre. It's only a 10 minute walk, but it makes all the difference to the surroundings! From there there are plenty of other worthy sights to see; the Abbaye aux Dames and Château Ducal being just two nearby examples.
