Calais-Ville Station

Station address, map and description

About the station

Calais-Ville Station (Gare Calais-Ville) is located just to the north of Calais's centre and approximately 1km south of the passenger ferry port. It is mainly used for local services and lies on the line to Lille Flandres station and on the direct line to Dunkirk.

On arrival, you'll find that the building itself is rather uninspiring, but let's not dwell on that! Outside the Calais-Ville station there is a free shuttle bus to the port run by P&O ferries, although be warned it is usually only once hourly and doesn't run 24hours, so make sure you plan your timings well if time is of the essence.

If you haven't been before and don't know where to start, head to Boulevard Clemenceau where you will find the tourist office which is ready to help with sightseeing suggestions, hotel bookings and other queries. If you want to just go it alone, a good place to start is the Parc Saint Pierre which is just a stone's throw from the station; as well as being a beautiful and relaxing open space in itself, it is also where the town hall (Mairie) is situated on the eastern side, which is one of Calais's sights to see.

If you just want to explore, you can take one of the yellow Balad’in buses which run across the city centre for free, and see where you fancy jumping off!
