Norwegian Wood

Norwegian Wood pays homage to rock music of the last few decades.

There are numerous music festivals in Oslo, most of which are devoted to jazz or classical music. Norwegian Wood however pays homage to rock music of the last few decades. If you’re a fan of Eagles, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan and/or Patti Smith you’re bound to enjoy the line ups at this yearly event. Since its inception in 1992, the number of famous performers taking part has multiplied, even if the opening event already included Johnny Cash and June Carter. Up to 8,000 people visit the festival on each of the five days it lasts for, but bear in mind there is just one stage so don’t expect to get up close and personal to the bands. Food and drink is available on site, but don’t bring your camera as it will get confiscated on entry.
