Introduction
Situated right on the North Sea coast of Germany near the border with the Netherlands, Norddeich is a small town alongside the larger inland town of Norden, but Norddeich is crucial in terms of transport connections. The train station lies on the coast alongside the ferry terminals; train services arrive from Leipzig, Hannover and Koeln amongst others, and the ferry has a regular service to the local islands of Norderney and Juist.It is estimated that annually over 2 million people arrive in Norddeich each year to travel on to the local islands or to use the town's own state recognised north sea spa facilities.
