Chessington World of Adventures
A great, local theme park with rides, an aquarium, cafes and gardens
The theme park and zoo can easily be reached from Kingston, the 465 bus for example goes there. Originally a zoo, the theme park was added in 1987 and has constantly been expanded. There is a pretty good selection of attractions and rides for all ages and you can see the whole zoo from an elevated monorail.
In the zoo part of the park you get a chance to see gorillas, tigers, lions, leopards, capybaras and otters; there is also a monkey and bird garden, a children's zoo with goats, pigs, sheep and chickens, a sealion enclosure, with several shows every day, a reptile house and a Sea Life Centre.
The Market Square in the centre is home to shops, video arcades, food stalls and a restaurant. You’ll also find Hocus Pocus Hall there; an indoor walkthrough experience where visitors wear 3D glasses!
