Today perhaps most famous for its stunning views and historic cemetary, Vysehrad is the former home of Czech kings.

A place with a very rich history, Vysehrad castle was originally used as the main residence of Czech kings from 10th until the first half of the 12th century. Today the castle grounds are still home to the Basilica of St Peter and St Paul, as well as the Vyšehrad cemetery. In this famous Czech cemetery composers Antonin Dvorak and Bedrich Smetana are buried, along with over 600 other famous Czech musicians, artists and intellectuals.
