Introduction
Quimper lies in the far west of France just inland from the Bay of Biscay and Celtic sea coastlines. It is 2hr15min to Nantes on a direct route along the N165 (European E60) motorway, or just over 2hrs to Rennes, the capital of Brittany.There is a TGV service operating from Quimper's station (Gare de Quimper) which connects the town via a direct line to Paris Montparnasse (4hr30m); also on this high-speed route are Rennes and Le Mans. Other local services operate to Brest and Rennes.
The town has it's own airport in the form of Quimper – Cornouaille Airport lying just under 6km to the south-west of Quimper. Though small, there are regular, direct flights to Paris, Figari (Corsica) and also to London City.
