Recent years have seen an increase in the number of music festivals taking place in Eastern and Central Europe, however Open’er has been running for over 10 years in Poland. The large outdoor event accommodates 120 acts on seven stages, and you can expect to hear anything from dance music to hip hop to rock, mostly from established, commercially successful performers; Snoop Dogg, Arctic Monkeys, Faithless, The White Stripes and Beastie Boys have all turned up to play over the years. The festival campsite includes a space for caravans and there is even an internet café if you simply can’t get through the event without checking your emails. Children over the age of four are welcome and can be entertained at the Kid’s Zone, which has musical workshops, drawing activities and games. Don’t bring your camera or an umbrella with a pointy end – they’re no permitted.
