Old Town Square

Old Town Square is one of Europe's most iconic locations and has featured in many Hollywood movies. Situated between the Charles Bridge and Wenceslas Square the square contains a number of cafes and restaurants and is a very popular place for tourists to take a break.


At the centre of the square is the Jan Hus Memorial, he was a religious reformer who was killed for his beliefs, the statue was erected to mark the 500th anniversary of his death.


Other attractions in the square include the imposing gothic Tyn Cathedral, St Nicholas Church and the very popular Astronomical Clock - tourists gather on the hour for an impressive show!

Getting to Old Town Square by train

Prague's Main Station Hlavni Nadrazi is around a 20 minute walk from Old Town Square. The public transport route involves a few changes and we'd recommend you use your guide map and just walk it, it's a nice walk taking in some typically Czech streets.
