Introduction

A relatively lesser-known town in the Languedoc region, its liveliest time of year is during the summer street parties. In August there’s the Feria de Béziers, a four day festival with bullfights and the very macho tradition of letting bulls run through the streets chasing after young men who’ve provoked them. At the end of July the Festa d’Oc festivities stick to music and dancing. The rest of the time there are attractions like the Cathedrale St-Nazaire, a 13th century Romanesque construction that offers beautiful views of the town and the vineyards that surround it. Art boffins should head to the Musée des Beaux Arts, for it contains works by masters like Rodin.
