Introduction
Located almost on the German border in eastern France, Forbach was formerly a major border and therefore customs crossing point for both road and rail users. As a result, transport connections are good, with the town lying on the A320 motorway between Metz on the French side, and Saarbruecken on the German side of the border.High-speed TGV and ICE services running between Paris Gare de l'Est (1hr40m) and Frankfurt (2hrs) now stop in Forbach.
