Introduction
Fulda is a city of approximately 65,000 inhabitants in central Germany, 100km to the north east of Frankfurt. Frankfurt airport is therefore the closest airport for Fulda and provides an excellent domestic and international service, and for which there are very convenient direct train connections from Fulda direct to Frankfurt Airport station (approx 1hr).The city is also well connected to the road network with the main north-south trunk road, the A7 motorway running past it. This road runs from Fuessen in the south right up to Flensburg on the Daenish border in the north.
The station is located on the main north-south train line as a result of this most trains on the Hanover (1.5hrs) – Würzburg (30mins) high-speed line do stop at Fulda. There is also a very good, direct, high speed service to Berlin (3hrs).
