Regensburg Train Stations and Maps

Main train stations and a country view rail map

Introduction

Regensburg lies in Bavaria, in the south-east of Germany and just 120km north-east of Munich. It is extremely well-connected to the motorway network, with the A3 and A93 motorways crossing on the south-western fringe of the town, so linking it with Munich via the A93/A9 and Nuremberg via the A3; both in approximately 1hr15mins.

The train services from Regensburg Hauptbahnhof (Main station) are also very good; there are twice hourly ICE services to Passau and Nuremberg amongst other destinations on the Wien - Essen line. There are also once daily direct services to stops en route to Hamburg (7hr30m) via the EuroNight train. Services to local destinations continue to be reliable and comprehensive with Ulm, Ingolstadt and Nuremberg amongst others, having train connections at least every hour.

Another option from Regensburg is to use the Arriva-Länderbahn-Express or Alex for short, to explore the local area. This runs trains to many tourist hotspots, but also has a great service to Prague in the Czech Republic, which can be reached in a little over 4 hours direct!
