Rail Guide to Saint Brieuc

Introduction

Although St. Brieuc is a haven for shoppers, the rural lands of north western Brittany are only moments away. In fact many travellers use the town as a base to drive to the surrounding villages or the cliffs overlooking the sea. A pathway on the hills passes all 15 beaches in the bay of St. Brieuc, some of which are sandy and suitable for fishing as well as swimming. Back in the town centre you can visit the museum of art and history or shop till you drop at the Le Champs shopping centre. The town boasts several beautiful parks, among them the Mineral Water Park, home to a mineral spring, and the Biodiversity Garden, created to encourage wildlife to breed.
