A seafood lover's festival heaven
Seafood lovers should visit Faro during this 11 day festival when fishermen set up stalls selling all manner of treats from the sea, with recipes prepared according to regional tradition. Each summer São Francisco's park, located near Faro's historical old town, becomes the setting for the foodie showcase, which has been going since 1993 and is organised by the local fishermen's association and the Town Hall. Live music and dancing add to the celebratory atmosphere.
