If you like splashing around, this event is for you. This curious festival takes place on or around water, whether it’s on boats or piers. Participants get the chance to bring their own homemade vehicle to race on the water. Other activities range from live folk music to duck races, but don’t get any ideas about animal cruelty – the ducks are strictly of the rubber variety and the proceeds from the race go to charity. Aside from this colourful event there is theatre, children’s activities, firework displays and food – expect specialty breads and fish washed down with plenty of wine and cocktails.
