Nuits de Champagnes
A music festival that pays homage to the artistry of chanteurs and composers
For more than 30 years the quaint, medieval town of Troyes has played host to Nuits de Champagnes, a music festival that pays homage to the artistry of chanteurs and composers. Since 1993 two or three composers have featured as guests of honour each year, including Serge Gainsbourg and Charles Aznavour, with past performers as varied as Horace Andy, Jane Birkin, Tindersticks and Angelique Kidjo. It takes place over the course of a week every October in various locations, with most of the action happening at the Theatre de Champagne and the vast Le Cube conference centre which can accomodate up to 6,000 people.
